Refund policy

At Kompost, we want you to feel confident ordering from us. If something isn’t right, we’ll work to put it right.

This policy explains your rights and how returns and refunds are handled.

1. Your Right to Cancel (UK & EU Customers)

If you are purchasing as a consumer in the UK or European Union, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason.

To exercise this right:

- You must notify us within 14 days of receiving the goods.

- You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

2. Return Conditions

To be eligible for a return:

- Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

- Items must be in a resaleable condition.

- You must provide proof of purchase.

We reserve the right to reduce a refund if the product shows signs of use or handling beyond what is necessary to inspect it.

For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of opened or used items unless they are faulty.

3. Faulty or Damaged Goods

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect:

- Please contact us within 7 days of receipt.

- Provide photos and your order number.

- We will arrange a replacement or full refund, including reasonable return shipping costs.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

4. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected:

- We will notify you of approval or rejection.

- Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days.

- Refunds will be made to the original payment method.

We may withhold a refund until we receive the returned goods or receive proof of return shipment.

5. Return Shipping Costs

- If you are exercising your 14-day cancellation right (UK/EU), you are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty.

- If the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs.

We recommend using a tracked shipping service, as we cannot be responsible for returns lost in transit.

6. International Orders

For customers outside the UK and EU:

- Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery unless otherwise stated.

- Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty.

- Customs duties and taxes are non-refundable unless legally required.

7. Non-Returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for:

- Used products (unless faulty)

- Opened hygiene products

- Gift cards

- Items damaged due to misuse

8. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different item, please return your product (if eligible) and place a new order.

9. Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received a refund:

1. Check your bank account.

2. Contact your payment provider.

3. Contact your bank.
